Vacancy – Immigration Paralegal

Purpose: The individual will be expected to fully support the Fee earner’s caseload of Immigration cases and deal with that caseload professionally, protecting always the professionalism of the firm and ensuring that the client has been represented in a professional manner at all times.

Candidate Profile:

  • University degree ideally in law.
  • Experience in working on Immigration matters and ability to handle case files with minimum supervision.
  • Experience dealing with UK Business immigration both for Companies and Individuals, with knowledge of Tier1, Tier 2 and Tier 4 visa applications.
  • Flexible approach to work, be a team player, enjoy working in a busy environment and be able to use your own initiative.
  • Keen interest in learning about the essential admin functions / processes within the firm and contributing towards it with enthusiasm.
  • Polite and Friendly to colleagues, clients and consultants.

Job Function:

  • To support a caseload of Immigration files (Company, Individuals and Family visa application including Tier 1,2 and 4) ensuring that each matter is dealt with in a professional and expedient manner and that the client’s interests and instructions are always met.
  • To follow the case through from start to completion professionally and in compliance with the SRA guidelines.
  • Ensuring that all balances pertaining to a client’s financial ledger are dealt with appropriately and are cleared in accordance with the accounting rules as published by the Law Society/Solicitor’s Regulations Authority and ensuring that the file is ready for archiving.
  • Ensuring that all milestones are updated on the case management system (Proclaim) and those stakeholders are updated accordingly.
  • Handle client queries efficiently and competently.

 

Job Duration:

  • Full-time and permanent.

Job Function and Accountabilities:

  • Act only within your area of expertise, to the position appointed and to seek partner authorisation, approval and supervision to any other matter to which you are instructed which is outside of your area of expertise, at all times minimising the exposure to risk to the firm. Such instructions should be passed to other fee earners where necessary.
  • Ensure that each and every client is identified in accordance with our Money Laundering Procedures.
  • Ensure a strict compliance with the requirements of the office manual and the firm’s Quality Standards Procedure.
  • Maintain high standards in the processing of client work, both in respect of your professional standards and client care.
  • Forge good working relations both with existing and new Clients.
  • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing post, fax and other communications pertaining to your Case are checked by you for accuracy and professionalism.

Vacancy – Residential Property Solicitor/ Conveyancer (Reading)

Purpose:

: To become a valuable member of the Conveyancing Team in the Firm and contribute proactively in upholding and raising the Firm’s profile with existing and new clients. The individual will be expected to support high volume caseload of residential sale and purchase files. They will take full responsibility for each file from instruction to post-completion.

Candidate Profile:

  • Must have 2 years + PQE in Residential property transactions.
  • Efficient and reliable.

  • Stamina, resilience and ability to prioritise conflicting caseload.
  • Excellent computer skills, ability to work independently / on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Time-management skills and a flexible approach to work.

  • Punctuality and a smart, professional appearance.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of the firm and client documentation and information.
  • Maintain high standards in the processing of client work, both in respect of your professional standards and client care.
